The services provided by Buro Trinius include the review and assessment of studies and reports of various kinds.

Dr. Trinius is a nominated independent reviewer to the German EPD system for building products. The declaration scheme is run by IBU. As the declarations are set up according to the requirements of ISO 14025, the publication of such Type III declarations precludes an independent review process.

Also environmental life cycle assessment studies, if following the provisions of ISO, must include an independent review process if the presented results are to be made public. We have participated in and coordinated several review panels. Typically such panels include three reviewers that ensure that the study at hand is in line with the requirements established in ISO 14040 and 14044.

The R&D experience is also reflected in assignments to review draft publications submitted scientific journals, and in the involvement in the scientific committees of international conferences, such as 11 dbmc, 12 dbmc and SB11. (dbmc is the tri-annual CIB conference series on durability of building materials and components, SB is the CIB conference series on sustainable building.)

The review experience of Buro Trinius began with our involvement in the evaluation of Bo01, the international Swedish building exhibition in Malmö 2001. Aspects of sustainable building and sustainable urban districts formed the main focus of the exhibition. The evaluation project related back to the documented ambitions and compared to the state of the art and the realized quarters in Malmö.
